Justice and self-determination are essential not only to Closing the Gap targets, but also to promoting reconciliation. You cannot achieve Close the Gap, unless Indigenous people can practice their culture, live in a society that respects and values their unique culture. 

Our work focuses on research that contributes to understanding and promotion of Indigenous justice and self-determination.

A core component of this work will be advocating for changes to the criminal justice system, promoting and explaining the importance of treaties, land rights and economic security.
